Nikah Nama frames, set in resin

What it is

The one thing from the nikah that stays on the wall

A nikah nama is the record of the marriage. Most couples keep the paper folded in a file somewhere and never look at it again. A resin frame takes the part that matters — the two names, the date, and whatever text or verse the family wants included — and sets it behind a hard, glass-clear finish with a gold-edged border, so it can be hung in the new home instead of filed away. We make these to order for couples and families across Gondia, and they are the piece we are asked for most often. They are given at the nikah itself, at the walima, as a first-anniversary present, and quite often by parents to the couple some months afterwards once the house is set up. Everything about it is yours to decide: the two names and exactly how they are spelled, the date and the format it is written in, the colours, whether you want preserved flowers set into the border, how much gold, and the size it needs to be for the wall it is going on.

Both names, your spelling

Typed back to you to approve before we pour. Once resin sets, text cannot be corrected.

Flowers that last

Real dried and pressed flowers sealed permanently into the border.

Gold that is set, not printed

Gold leaf laid by hand into the resin, not a gold-coloured print on paper.

Sized to your wall

Tell us the space it is going into and we will build to it.

What you choose

Six decisions, and then it is yours

You do not need to have all of this worked out before you message us. Most people start with two names and a date, and we take it from there.

The two names

Exactly as you want them written — full names, short names, or one of each.

The nikah date

In numerals, in words, or both. Hijri date alongside the Gregorian if you want it.

The text or verse

Send us the exact wording you want included and we will set it out for you.

Colours and finish

Ivory and gold is the most asked for. Black and gold, blush, or matched to your decor.

Flowers and pearls

Preserved flowers around the border, pearl detail, or kept clean and plain.

Size and stand

Wall-hung or on a table stand, in the size that fits where it is going.

How it works

Ordering a Nikah Nama frame

The only part we will chase you about is the spelling. Everything else we can guide you through.

  1. Tell us the idea

Send a WhatsApp with what you want made, who it is for and the occasion. A screenshot or a photo of something you liked helps more than a paragraph.

  2. Spelling & details

Give us the exact spelling of every name, the date if there is one, and any text that has to appear. We will type it back to you to check before anything is poured.

  3. Size & finish

Pick a finish and a size. If you are matching a room or an existing piece, send a photo of it and we will work to that.

  4. We confirm

You get the final design details and the price in writing, and we agree a date. Nothing starts until you say yes.

  5. Poured and cured

The piece is poured by hand and then left to cure. Resin sets on its own schedule and cannot be rushed without ruining the finish — this is the part that takes the time.

  6. Finished & handed over

Edges sanded, gold set, gloss coat on. We send you a photo before it leaves, then arrange pickup from Ramnagar or delivery.

Questions

Nikah Nama — questions we get asked

How far in advance should I order?

As early as you can. The making is not the slow part — resin has to cure fully before it can be sanded, gold-set and gloss-coated, and that cannot be hurried without spoiling the finish. If you have a nikah or walima date in mind, message us with the date and we will tell you straight away whether it is comfortable, tight, or not possible. We would rather say no than hand you something that has not cured properly.

Can you include Arabic text or a verse?

Yes. Send us the exact text you want, in the script you want it in, as an image or a copy-paste — not a description of it. We will set it into the design and send it back for you to check letter by letter before anything is poured. If the wording comes from your family or your imam, please get it confirmed by them at that stage rather than after.

Do you make these for non-Muslim weddings too?

Yes. The same frame works as a wedding certificate frame, an engagement keepsake, or an anniversary gift with the couple's names and date. Tell us what you want it to say and we will build it the same way.

Can I give it at the nikah itself as a gift?

Plenty of people do — it is one of the more common reasons we are asked for one. If you are giving it rather than receiving it, you will need the correct spelling of both names and the date from someone in the family, because we cannot guess and we cannot fix it afterwards.

What size do most people choose?

It depends entirely on the wall it is going on, which is why we ask rather than offer fixed sizes. Send us a photo of the space with something in frame for scale, and we will suggest a size that will look right there.

How do I look after a resin piece?

Keep it out of long spells of direct sunlight — like all epoxy resin, it can warm and discolour over years of hard UV. Wipe it with a soft dry or barely damp cloth; skip scouring pads, thinners and strong cleaners. Do not leave it soaking in water. If you plan to put hot cups or dishes straight onto a coaster or tray, tell us when you order and we will advise on the right build for that piece.

Where exactly in Gondia are you?

Craftsvilla Studio is at Ramnagar Municipal School, behind the New Ramnagar Police Station, Ramnagar, Gondia, Maharashtra. Message us on WhatsApp before you come so we can make sure someone is there and have the finishes out for you to look at.

Send us the two names and the date

That is genuinely all we need to start. We will come back with a design, a size and a price in writing.
